Big Leaf Maple Hardwood Flooring

Unfinished Solid | Northwest Native Hardwood Floor A stunning floor, great when you want to really brighten up the space and bounce some light throughout.  Big Leaf Maple has a pale champagne color with warm almost pinkish undertones. Big Leaf Maple is known for its figured grain, almost three dimensional when finished - it is prized by the finest violin makers.  Similar in hardness to American Cherry. It's a good choice for light traffic residential applications.  The Character grade will have a natural rustic personality, with tight knots, checks and some darker chocolate brown wood, and more figured grain.  Select grade will provide a more uniform, clean modern look. We think that where your wood comes from is just as important a factor in determining what you choose for your home as is color, grain, hardness and price. For that reason, we list each of our woods with it's "ECO-STATUS", to help you make good decisions about the qualities of your materials.

NW NATIVE - Woods which are native to and manufactured within our Northwest Eco-Region. We've worked for years with the non-profit Sustainable Northwest's Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities partnership to encourage ecologically responsible and restorative forestry across our region, on both public and private forest lands.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Grades	SELECT is our finest grade, appropriate for wherever a refined, upscale look is sought.  Virtually clear, Select grade does allow for occasional small pin knots and burls.
	CHARACTER is our very popular appearance grade.  This grade highlights the structurally sound natural features of the wood, including knots no larger than 2" in diameter, tight burls, and small fillable holes and checks which will not affect the strength or integrity of the flooring.
	RUSTIC is our long length grade specifically for our Wide Plank floors. Allows structurally sound larger knots and checks for a more naturally Antique look.
Color & Grain	Uniform bright, pale champagne with subtle pinkish undertones with some warm chocolate rippling throughout (more so with Character and Rustic grades). Grain is subtle, swirling, finishes to a luminescent glow with some highly figured wood, particularly in the Character grades.
Hardness	Janka rating 850 lbs (residential applications, comparable to American Cherry)

Flush Mount Vents

Most floor projects have some sort of accessories necessary to complete the job with a consistent look.

TREADS | We make standard sized and custom stair bull nosed treads, typically 1" thick though we can do any thickness, length or shape you need. Mitred returns if necessary

RISERS | Made to match the floor or they can contrast.

BULLNOSE | For at landing or balcony edges

BASE SHOE | A way to tie the floor into the wall or baseboard, without the expense of matching base board.

WOOD VENTS | Flush mount with a frame that integrates into the floor installation.

FEATURE STRIP | To create a framed perimeter, highlighting different woods or the shape of the room.

TEE THRESHOLD or REDUCER | When transitioning between materials or surfaces of differing levels
